Back-to-School Jam & Supply Drives
The Flagler Palm Coast Kiwanis Club proudly supports students by collecting and distributing school supplies each year. Since 2014, Dr. Maria Barbosa has actively volunteered on behalf of Kiwanis, contributing her time, compassion, and dedication to this meaningful community initiative.
Each year, the Flagler Schools Back-to-School Jam kicks off the new school year with energy and excitement at the FPC Gymnasium (5500 State Road 100, Palm Coast). This uplifting event brings together families, students, educators, and community partners for a morning filled with connection, encouragement, and support.
For many families, especially those facing delicate financial challenges, preparing for a new school year can be overwhelming. The cost of supplies, clothing, and basic necessities can create stress and uncertainty. This is where the Kiwanis Back-to-School initiative makes a meaningful difference. By providing financial assistance in the form of cash awards, students are empowered to purchase shoes and essential items they may otherwise go without. In addition, Kiwanis members distribute school supplies that help ensure every child begins the school year equipped, confident, and ready to learn.
This support goes beyond material needs-it restores dignity, relieves financial pressure, and brings peace of mind to families who are doing their best under challenging circumstances. Parents are deeply grateful, knowing their children can start school on equal footing with their peers, without feeling left behind.
The total funding for this project is $500, but its impact reaches far beyond its monetary value. It represents care, compassion, and a community coming together to uplift one another.
