Kiwanis Adopt-A-Road & Community Beautification Project – Serving with Heart

Members of the Kiwanis Club of Flagler Palm Coast have faithfully dedicated many Saturday mornings to making Palm Coast a cleaner, safer, and more beautiful place for all. Through the Kiwanis Adopt-A-Road and Community Beautification Project, volunteers come together with a shared mission-to serve their community and improve the quality of life for families and children.

With a spirit of unity and compassion, Kiwanis members have worked tirelessly to clean roadsides, restore playgrounds, care for parks, and complete thorough cleanups of walking trails and public spaces. These efforts extend to sidewalks, green areas, parking lots, and especially meaningful locations such as Old King Road and the Kiwanis Compound.

This project was originally initiated and led for many years by Past President Bill “William” Klinkenberg, whose dedication laid a strong foundation for service. For over five years, Past President Arvid Olson has faithfully carried this mission forward, continuing the legacy of leadership and commitment to community care.

More than just a cleanup effort, this initiative reflects Kiwanis’ ongoing dedication to creating safe, welcoming environments where families can gather, children can play, and lasting memories can be formed. These spaces are not just maintained-they are cared for with pride and purpose.

The impact of these efforts has been deeply felt throughout the community. Local families frequently stop to express their gratitude, and many are inspired to join in, working side by side with Kiwanis volunteers. These moments of connection remind us that when people come together with a shared purpose, meaningful and lasting change becomes possible.

Cleanup projects like this not only beautify our surroundings but also strengthen community bonds and instill a sense of pride in both the volunteers and the residents they serve. They create spaces that everyone can enjoy and feel proud of.

A heartfelt thank you to all the dedicated volunteers who continue to support this mission. Your commitment helps keep Flagler County clean, green, and full of life.

Through service, dedication, and compassion, Kiwanis continues to make a lasting difference-one Saturday at a time.
